Closing in on Davenport Iowa. Had a great first day. Glad we made some time for exploring. I saw a sign for the Wright Brothers family home and flight museum. Mo didn't know anything about this, so we went to the gift shop and got some info. We decided to pay for a short tour.

It was really cool, but we noticed out in a field behind the museum some guys flying gas powered planes. The planes were about 4 feet long, and can fly up to 100 mph and for as long as 30 minutes using the equivalent of a weed whacker engine. This is amazing. So glad we stopped. We laughed ourselves silly when the guy used his plan to chase a crow 1000 feet in the air.

We are gaining an hour now, so arriving Davenport at 8:30 but really feels like 9:30. I want to get on the road by 6;30 as we need to get to Mt Rushmore campground before dark tomorrow. Looks like 11.5 hrs. Pretty redundant scenery in the morning and then will get interesting going through the Badlands of South Dakota about 3 p.m. tomorrow afternoon.
The stop in Indianapolis was great. St. Elmo's restaurant was established in 1902, a year before the first official manned flight by the Wright Brother at Kitty Hawk, NC.
